The lag MUST STOP NOW!
Okay, lately, me and all my friends (gw friends) have been getting MAJOR lag, not because of our internet connections, but because of the anet servers, more specifically what we believe to be the dragon fest. I have been lagging every 5 seconds since the Dragon fest. update; no matter where I am. I have died in UW several several several times now because of this, and I am afraid to do anything in the game of significance. This needs to stop, right now. I have contacted ANET, but all they have to say "Can we see you internet connection Info??" When its not even my internet, trust me, I am 100% certain it is not my internet connection, the web has been running smooth as ever as well as everything else, but GW is very very very very laggy.
This is a very big problem, and has been frustrating both me, and my friends.

Thousands of people in europe are getting huge lag spikes and it's been going on for over 7 days. It may not be Anets part of the network but I would hope they are raising merry hell to get it fixed. Basically from what alliance and friends are telling me, pretty much whole parts of the game are totally unplayable.
Daily updates, plus detailed step by step instructions on how we can help would be of use.
7 Days+ to fix something is very poor, regardless of where the fault lays.
As a short stop gap, playing from the international districts seems to reduce it somewhat.

Yes, however, that knocks UW and FoW out of the loop, as ofc you have to be on the favored countries' server. DoA is also out, because there isn't anyone in ID districts, at least not enough to form a team for anything...
If Anet has been trying to fix it, then okay, sorry for mass complaining, but I think if it hasn't been fixed by now then they need to work harder because as you can see, this is a big problem.

It's true. I have it too. I'm kinda relieved it's not my problem.
Didn't have it this morning, so it must be festival related.

Well, I've been in contact with support for months over this issue. According to them "There is no lag", so I guess that makes all the people reporting it liars then!
It's funny how it's only GW that suffers from this and nothing else.

I have been hearing about this from a few people but I haven't exprienced any. I only get a little lag when I go to an explorable areas at the start as well as entering a town due to sound.

I fixed both my sound and lag issues caused by the sound processor system they installed a few months ago by using the -dsound switch. You might want to give it a try, It reduced by lag to about one quarter of what it was after the "upgrade."

Okay, was ANOTHER lag thread really necessary?
Could people please check other threads before going on their whiny little rants? All you had to do was scroll down a little...

Thousands of people are extremely frustrated and angry over this issue which has been getting steadily worse, with no response to it besides a note on the GW main site about it being "looked into". There are people on this site who are in constant contact with Support - and they are not getting any further than the average Joe playing the game and sending in a support ticket.
Yes, there are other threads about this problem, and that's what Mods are for - if they feel this is an unnecessary thread, they will merge it with the others or lock it (as they have done with others). I have full confidence in the ability of our Mods to do what is correct for this forum.
If you do not suffer from this lag problem and feel it is unnecessary to post about it - just skip the lag threads. BUT there are a lot of people for whom this game has become almost unplayable with lag - and they are told by Anet to come to these forums and post their "whiny little rants" - which is their right. Just a little respect for other people and their feelings is all it takes to skip a thread if you have no interest in it.

for over 12 days now with only serious lag ingame, so it's not starting to bug me! Its utterly annoying the hell out me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try helping out guildies when you constantly error out or just can't do shit because of the lag. It doesn't help. I've seen the activity slowly degrade in my guild because of several people having the same lag like I do.
I've kept just logging in to keep in touch through the ingame chat, but for the rest is just been unplayable! It needs fixing asap!

I myself am having the same lag problems that have been stated on this, and a couple of other threads. I was actually reading the posts on relevant threads BECAUSE of this, but haven't posted anything because I feel there is no point in repeating what has already been said. While the forum is an outlet for people to vent their anger(And I'm as angry as anyone else.), posting repeated threads isn't going to make Anet resolve this problem any faster as they are already aware of the problem.
Anyway, as you said, this is for the Mods to resolve if they deem it to be necessary to do so. Just trying to implement some common sense -- albeit maybe in a slightly over aggressive manner. Although I feel I have as much a right to complain as anyone else, regardless of the subject in question. I hope you see my point.

It started with the dragon festival, and ended when the dragon festival ended. (for me at least)
